After seeing low but fairly old successful bid postings, I made the following rejected 4* bids for one night in Cologne (1/7/07):

On the off chance that new 4* inventory might appear, I got in three more sets of lower 4* bids as a precursor to my 3* bids (because even if rejected the 4* bids would not impact my 3* bidding).
