rhines Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 This website is wonderful - I can't believe I have been using Hotwire all this time without this board! My friends and I will be in Vegas from Feb. 8-11. The Hotwire prices I have been seeing for the last couple of weeks are around $212 for 4 star hotels on the strip. In your collective experience, do you think those numbers will come down over the next couple of weeks? We don't need to stay any place super nice, but hotels in the Paris/Aladdin/MGM range would be great, if possible. We aren't in any particular hurry to buy, but we want to stay on top of it if possible. Thanks again for the website - it really is a wonderful tool.
thereuare Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 Nobody can say if prices will go down... or up, between now and your stay. However, those HOTWIRE prices don't seem anything special as you can book similar rates thru EasyClickTravel and their reservations are cancellable up until 2-3 days before the check-in date (policy differs from hotel to hotel, after you click "book it" or "more info" look on the bottom of the page to find out that specific hotel's policy). You could reserve Paris for $209/nite and a few others (Flamingo, Ballys, Westin, etc) for a little less.Use those as a back-up and then continue to monitor HOTWIRE prices between now and your trip. (using our link to search, of course :) )Let us know what you end up doing or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
rhines Posted December 13, 2006 Author Report Posted December 13, 2006 Thanks for the advice - we will definitely go through your site, no matter what we do.
rhines Posted January 18, 2007 Author Report Posted January 18, 2007 The prices of the Westin dropped pretty steeply, and we got our rooms through Hotwire at $86 per night for Friday and Saturday night (taxes and fees included). The star ratings and amenities matched perfectly with the information found on the pinned list on this site. We'll probably stay somewhere else on Thursday night - Thanks so much for all your help!
thereuare Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Glad it worked out well for you.Can you please add the amenities to your post as it serves as a reference point if/when amenities change. You can still view them by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page. Thanks!! Enjoy your stay.
