Hotwire Hotel: 2* NYC (Central Park) WooGo Lincoln Center

I got the same mysterious 2* Condo (studio) when searching on hotwire for the July4 week. I tried priceline, even by splitting out the higher weekend, but no bite. Must have been blacked out due to holiday. I also thought about commuting from Queens, Bronx, or even a scenic ferry or PATH from NJ budget places, but the $100 a night was attractive since alternatives (other than hostels) were closer to $200 for the family.

So I booked the $100/night (using the link from this site of course)

And what did I get? The woogo lincoln center. Yes, this one is on other sites for $200, and they only appear to have 1BR, 2BR and 3BR (no studio). Yes, the one with the bad reviews on tripadivisor and woogone.com or WooGoSucks.com. So they must be really hurting for business. So do I tell the family that we'll have to walk through the projects to sleep, but we'll save $100 a day? Or are they cleaning up their act, obtaining a license to run a hotel, and hoping for more positive feedback? I guess I better read up on credit card protection and monitor feedback over the next 6 months. I know now what to expect. You get what you pay for......

Sorry to hear about this win... i have heard the negative stories of WooGo too. You may try to gather some of the negative reports out there and talk to hotwire of your concerns (assuming you would prefer to not stay here)
