Hotwire Hotel: Help Identify LV Hotel 1/19 - 1/21

Hello board members,

First let me say that I have read the travel tips/advice embedded in this site over the last few years and I truly believe this is one of the most helpful/money-saving travel boards around. You do a great service.

On to my query, I am surprising my wife w/ a trip to LV for her birthday and am looking for a nice hotel. We will stay 1/19/07 - 1/21/07 (two nights). A hotwire search returned:

for $173/night: a 4* south strip w/ amenities: Resort, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, Casino, Business Center and Pools

for $89/night: a 3* north strip w/ amenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, Casino, Business Center and Pools

Could I get your opinion as to which hotels these are?

Also, if you have any advice about where else I should look (Priceline perhaps?), I would like to hear it. I am looking for somewhere on the strip for these nights that is medium quality (at the level of a Radisson or Doubletree) or higher.

The 4* is a match for the Luxor while the 3* is a match for both the Flamingo and the Riviera, so it could be either... for that price i'd think the Riviera is more likely.
