aznevon Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 first off, thanks for the great service you offer to price-conscious people like me! your site was referred to me by someone who got a great deal on a rental car in maui.anyway, i'm looking for a good deal on 1-2 rooms for 6-8 girls for the weekend of 1/5/07 to 1/7/07. i realize prices will probably be high for that weekend. a big suite would be nice, but if it's cheaper to get 2 smaller rooms, we're ok with that too. here's a summary of the specs:1) location: we'd like to stay on the strip, but anywhere within walking distance of the strip is fine; heard venetian is good for large groups?2) rating: 3* or above3) total price for 2 nights: $600 <-- let me know if that's totally unreasonable for what i'm asking forTHANKS ahead of time...
thereuare Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 You have a few issues...Priceline and HOTWIRE will only be for 'standard' rooms, and i'm not sure of any suite (except those for high-rollers... and these are not sold to the public) that could accomodate 8 people.Priceline rooms are only guaranteed for double occupancy, you (and your group) need to discuss if this is risk you're willing to take. Otherwise, HOTWIRE will allow you to search for up to quad occupancy.Thru direct bookings, many Vegas hotels are now charging for occupancy more than double, and this fee can range from $15-$30/pp per nite... so claming quad occupancy can add as much as $60/nite to your hotel room. Not sure if you're comfortable booking double occupancy (and risking only one bed in the room) if in reality you will be four.Let us know your thoughts on the above and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
aznevon Posted August 18, 2007 Author Report Posted August 18, 2007 We ended up getting a 1 king bed room direct at MGM Grand for $299/night. I'm not sure if it was considered a suite, but it did have a mini bar area, sitting area, and dividing wall between sitting area and bed. We crammed 6 people in the room and were not charged for extra occupancy.
