hylasgirl Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 I have done a search for September. I know it is really early, but I am just looking around and hoping for a deal. This seams like a REALLY expensive time in the city. There is one that comes up for $359 for a 4* in MTC with these amenities... Fitness/Restaurant/Business/Highspeed/Spa... do you think this is the Le Parker Meridien? Because even at that price it is a good deal...Thank you so much for any information!
thereuare Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 What are the actual date(s) of your stay?Do you really want to lock in a $350+ non-refundable hotel room this far ahead of your stay? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
hylasgirl Posted December 7, 2006 Author Report Posted December 7, 2006 Not especially... but, it sure sounded like the Le Meridien and that would be a good deal. My dates are September 23rd through the 28th. I know this is early but I have searched many different things and the rates are horrible for September. I travel to New York twice every year and I always book early because I have never seen the rates go down. But this is the worst I have seen it with trying to pre-book.Thanks for any advice or information...
thereuare Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 The above is a match for the Le Meridien so that would be our best guess. You may also want to consider the Eastgate Tower for $332/nite or the Affinia Manhattan for $376/nite (there is no booking fee so 'all-in' this is only a few dollar more per nite than the HOTWIRE offer above). The advantage of each of these, beside great reviews (Eastgate and Manhattan) is that they're both cancellable up until a few days before your stay... locking you in a similar rate to the above but also giving you the ability to try to find a better deal over the next 9 months. Please use the following links for whichever route you plan to go:HOTWIREEastgate TowerAffinia ManhattanLet us know what you decide or if we can be of further help. hylasgirl Posted December 8, 2006 Author Report Posted December 8, 2006 Thanks for the info... from what I read when "easy click" pops up is that there is a one night cancelation fee for up to 2 nights prior.
thereuare Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 No, it's poorly worded (i keep asking them to change it), but for the above properties there is no cancellation fee if you cancel outside of two days. If you cancel inside of two days, there is a one nite cancellation fee. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
hylasgirl Posted December 9, 2006 Author Report Posted December 9, 2006 Thanks for the heads up... I will check them out
hylasgirl Posted April 21, 2007 Author Report Posted April 21, 2007 I did not find secure a reservation in New York for these dates. I decided to rent an apartment on VRBO. It was a much better rate than a hotel for 5 nights.
hylasgirl Posted April 21, 2007 Author Report Posted April 21, 2007 Actually... for this stay, I ended up using Marriott reward points. I am also staying 5 nights after a cruise, same vacation, and the hotel rates were all too high... I ended up with the apartment. September seems pretty expensive.
