tchrchgo Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Stayed here last night. Won 2 rooms through priceline for $30 each room. Glad I did not pay more.It is in the process of becoming a Hyatt Place. Has a long way to go to be a hyatt. Unless hyatt is lowering their standards.Low quality guests- tried to take our 4 yr olds to the pool, and a large family (kids ranging in age from 8 to newborn, and a mother who looked all of 24) who promptly took over the pool, doing cannonballs and diving into the pool right on my kids' heads). Pool was very small, filmy, and the pool area was poorly heated so we froze when we got out. We finally gave up and left the pool, and tried to tell the front desk staff about what was occurring at the pool. This was 8pm at night, and no customers were in the lobby, there was a customer service person and someone who appeared to be a janitor standing around the front desk. Neither of them even attempted to do anything about it, or to even acknowledge our concerns. There was a complimentary breakfast which was awful! There were eggs and sausage, but my entire family took some, and we all dumped it in the trash- not only did it taste bad, but it was cold (and we came promptly at 7am when breakfast started!). No waffle maker, only frozen waffles you put in a toaster. Day old bread and muffins, and cold cereal. We have stayed at the residence inn, and country inn and suites- and those complimentary breakfasts were TONS better than this one!We received very poor customer service- the evening we arrived we expressed concerns about the pool, all we received was a shrug, nothing else. Same response the next day when we expressed concern about the pool, tv channels, and the terrible breakfast- just a shrug, and we were told "when we become a hyatt the breakfast will be better but it won't be free anymore."Room was okay, a bit cramped as they tried to put too much furniture in a small space. We received a room across from the elevator even though the hotel was not full. Not my preferred location. But it actually was quiet. There were very few tv channels (cbs, nbc, abc, tnt, tbs, a&e, pbs/wttw, and discovery channel). Also, the heating system was very loud in the room, and would loudly and constantly cycle on and off all night. There was plenty of parking, and 2 eateries within walking distance across the parking lot- a mexican eatery and a buona beef eatery. nothing much else anywhere within easy reach.Would not recommend this place- and if this is how a hyatt place will be- I will also be avoiding all hyatt place's in the future!!
