DavyRob
Hi ThereWe are looking to stay in Vegas 4/29/07 - 5/4/07 & 5/6/07 - 5/9/07 and require two rooms with two adults in each.We are hoping to find accomodation for a total budget up to $1600 ($800 per room)Ideally this will comprise 5 star for the dates 5/6/07 - 5/9/07, and 4star 4/29/07 - 5/4/07 centre strip area. Are we being a bit to adventureous with our target or do we have a realistic chance?I have tried priceline bids for 5/6/07 - 5/9/07 of $150 with no success.Any help or advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated.ThanksDavy Link to comment
thereuare
Please use separate threads for each leg of your stay. This will enable us to ultimatley reflect the hotel won for each part of the stay in the topic title of the thread (as well, it makes it less confusing as to how much you're willing to budget for each part of the stay, as i don't understand the budget explanation you have given above). Since you have already bid for 5/6-5/9 we will use this thread for that portion of your stay and please start a NEW TOPIC for the other part of your stay. For these dates, the Venetian is priced at $379/nite, and unless those rates come down substantially you won't be successful at $150 or less. For this part of your stay, how high are you willing to go for a 5* hotel? DavyRob
We would go up to a maximum of $200 per night for a five star hotel but from what you say this appears to be a long way of target. For $150 per night would a 4 star plus be a more realistic target? Link to comment
thereuare
In your other thread you mention that location is very important to you... when using the opaque providers you need to be comfortable anywhere in the zone as defined by the shaded boundary set for by each service. With HOTWIRE their South Strip zone extends more south than MGM and the North strip zone extends beyond Treasure Island. Priceline only uses one zone for the entire "strip area" and it also extends further north/south than TI and MGM, and also includes the Westin, which is slightly off strip... so not sure if these are conditions/areas you are willing to risk.I did find the Aladdin for $109/nite and it gives you a great center strip location. Does that work well for your plans, needs, and budget? This is also cancellable up until a few days before your arrival, so if something better does come along you could always cancel and take advantage of a better deal.Thoughts? DavyRob
Hello AgainWe have stayed in the Aladdin before and as you say, this has a great locatiuon and has been a great Hotel. Our only concern is with the work taking place there during it's conversion to a Planet Hollywood Hotel, we have read some less than complimentary reviews regarding the Hotel during this conversion work. When will this work be completed, and to what extent do you feel it would affect our stay?ThanksDavy. Link to comment
thereuare
Since your stay is over 6 months away, i think a quick phone call or email to the hotel to find out the construction schedule/completion is the only way you'll get an accurate answer to your question... but keep in mind that schedules are often delayed and in reality it will probably be later than they currently predict. However, if this is a concern of yours, priceline may not be an option since you could very easily receive this hotel and your purchase would be non-refundable.However, thru this Aladdin link the reservation is cancellable up until a few days before your stay, so at least you lock in a price now and can always cancel if construction reports indicate that it is disruptive. If you do book the above for both legs of your stay, please use this link to begin each purchase (ie- after the first purchase, return to this page and click the link again to begin your second purchase).HOTWIRE is always an option as well, and since they divide the strip into two sections, you can avoid the zone that has the Aladdin in order to avoid this hotel... but you could also end up more south of the MGM which is something you stated you were trying to avoid as well. Our Las Vegas Rate Checker may also be a good tool for you to use since it seems like you may not be flexible enough for the opaque providers and need to book direct.
