thadew1 Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 I am going with a friend to Visit another friend in South Bend Indiana. We are staying the night in chicago thursday and all day friday there. I was wondering what I would be able to get for a price for a decent hotel downtown near the main attractions. I am new to this and have no clue where anything is in Chicago and would appreciate any help I could get as to what to bid and of course I plan to go through savingsbarn. Thanks
thereuare Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 The two most frequently bid areas are the Loop and the North Michigan Ave (NMA) zones, but you should look at the priceline zones as well as our own Priceline Maps (which will give you a little better idea of any attractions you know you want to see) and determine if these are the zone(s) you'd like to bid. What is the minimum star rating you are seeking? thadew1 Posted November 15, 2006 Author Report Posted November 15, 2006 I didnt want to go over 75 for the night and would obviously prefer as cheap as possible. I'd settle for 2 star but would prefer 3 star and have no need for 4 star. I wanted to go on a tour bus and was told that downtown area would be the best place to stay. I just didnt know what a good starting bid would be
thadew1 Posted November 15, 2006 Author Report Posted November 15, 2006 Do you think it would be possible to get a room at the Hard Rock which I heard was excellent for around 50-60? I really am unaware of the typical prices for hotels in the a big city like this.
thereuare Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 At the 3* level you don't have any re-bid zones available.Given the short notice, I'd try as follows:Select 3* Loop...Bid $65, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* NMA...Bid $65, if rejected add Loop...Bid $75.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. If rejected just post back and we'll take it from there.PS- also check out our sister site ThingsToDo411 for more things to do in Chicago Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
