chen Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 I tried to get 4* Hyatt Century Plaza and started at $120 bidding in various increments up to $175 with no success (that's my max for 4*). When this failed, I went down to 3* and bid $80 hoping for the Hyatt West Hollywood. This was also rejected. I would like to get either a 3* for under $100 or a 4* for under $200 (tax included). Suggestions?

chen Posted November 12, 2006 Author Report Posted November 12, 2006 I think it's roughly $170 before taxes and fees, which tacks on about $30+
chen Posted November 12, 2006 Author Report Posted November 12, 2006 I just got the Tower Beverly Hills for $195 for a grand total of $232.03. I am not at all impressed with this deal primarily because it was a lot more than I intended on spending and second, because it's only a measly $5 bucks better than I could have gotten at Orbitz.com and this is not because I didn't bid properly. Here's my winning details:Check-In Date: Thursday, November 16, 2006 Check-Out Date: Friday, November 17, 2006 Hotel Name: The Tower Beverly Hills1224 South Beverwil Drive Los Angeles, California 90035 310-277-2800Your Offer Price: $195.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $195.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $37.03 Total Charges*: $232.03 OFFER AT Orbitz:$208.48 Subtotal $29.05 Taxes and fees $237.53 Total charges booh!My bid history4* Beverly Hills - West Hollywood (hoping for the Hyatt) with multiple free rebids.$160 - rejected$170 - rejected$180 - rejected (PL counteroffered for $25 more)$185 - rejected$187 - rejected$190 - rejected$192 - rejected$195 - acceptedNote: I also bid this zone 3* for $90 - rejected and then added Brentwood for $100 - rejected. thereuare Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Thank you for sharing helping us add this new property to the Priceline Hotel List and for starting your bids with the priceline hotel links at SavingsBarn.comSorry you feel you didn't get a great deal on this one. The hotel's website is priced at $249/nite (i was surprised that Orbitz was cheaper) and at least the place looks nice. Thanks again for posting and enjoy your stay.
