traveliz
I am another newbie. Is there any way to get the Venetian, not the Wynn, through Priceline or Hotwire? I am planning a trip to Vegas Dec 4 to Dec 8 and what comes up on Hotwire looks like it is Wynn. I really want to stay at the Venetian. Any tricks or ideas? Link to comment

traveliz
I'm not sure how that info is relavent to my question but, currently on Hotwire the only 5 star hotel listed on the strip from 12/4 to 12/8 is priced at $200 per night. It is listed as "North Strip". The ammenities are: casino, fitness center, pool, restaraunt, business center, high speed internet, golf nearby and tennis nearby. The golf and tennis nearby combined with the lack of "spa" indicates to me that it is not the Venetian, might be Wynn.My question again is: are there tricks to ensure that a 5 star hotel through priceline (or Hotwire) will be the Venetian or might I also end up at the Wynn or elsewhere if I bid on a North Strip, Airport or Downtown 5 star hotel on priceline? runNgun
I'm not sure how that info is relavent to my question...It is the only thing relevant to your question. Listing the amenties shown will help you determine the EXACT hotel. Link to comment
photomikey
I'm not sure how that info is relavent to my question ...Don't be snarky, we're here to help. These icons match with past wins at the Venetian. As long as you're bidding opaque (i.e. Hotwire or Priceline), there is always the chance of getting a hotel that hasn't been reported before. The Wynn has not been reported before. If it were to come up, it would come up in the same zone, and likely as a 5*. Either hotel would be a great place to stay.Your chances of getting the Venetian are (very) high, but never 100%. If staying there is mission critical, book direct. Also, using Priceline will almost always give you the Venetian at a lower price. However, you do (ever so slightly) raise the risk of getting a different 5* hotel. Link to comment
traveliz
Thank you Photomikey for a reply that makes sense!!!! I think frequently people assume that "newbies" understand all the jargon and the reasons to do things in a certain way. Even after doing all the "required reading" things are spinning through my head. I am sorry to be "snarky" but I truly didn't get how the response I got related to the question that I asked. Yes, some of us really are that simple!Your response makes sense and gives me ideas about where to go and how and why. I appreciate the time you took to make me understand even if I came of as a B initially!Thank you. Link to comment
