angus57 Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 I have stayed at the Argent years b4 and think it's a great value and location for my business work. I checked the HW price vs the hotel's website and see only a $13 difference when figuring in parking at the hotel. $104 plus parking of $42 +tax vs $159 plus tax at websiteHave used this site b4 for other SF hotels (le meridien) and always found a difference in savings greater than 15%. Le Meridien was a steal booking here awhile back! ;-)Not complaining, just bringing this up. Stay for late Oct '06 one night (not Halloween..lol)I am not a tight wad so will book thru the hotel website for their superior room at this rate
AztecWolverine Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 I really love the Argent, especially if two beds are required for a stay in San Francisco. Did you know that Expedia has regularly blocked out one or two floors of the hotel, for their special rate, and that these rooms may be available even when the hotel itself shows no availability? I stayed there once when there was a large Moscone convention going on, and the convention web site showed no availability, as well as the hotel itself. When the Argent came up on Expedia I was quite surprised, and even more so when my booking went through!!!P.S. Thereuare, every time I would preview my post after writing Expedia without the space, a strange url would be inserted that included bfast.com and Big Island?????
thereuare Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 Yes, has to do with the hotlinking on the board, and how just typing exp-edia (without the dash) automatically turns into a linked Expedia. When editing you can either delete the [url ... /url] tags and everything inbetween and re-type 'exp-dia' (w/o the dash) or we'll edit it for you. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
