norscio
I am going to New Orleans for New Year's Eve, just the one night. I booked the AmeriHost for $110 including tax. I tried a few lowball bids on Priceline for the area and as expected, had no luck. Is it even worth pursuing Priceline for a holiday and area like this? In anyone's opinion, could I possibly get something comparable to the AmeriHost or better for less than the above price? Thanks much. Link to comment
laurarice
I just got a 3* in the French Quarter for $90 but it's for Jan. 1 not New Year's Eve. That may be more expensive. Good luck!Laura Link to comment
norscio
The Amerihost rate went down to $67 and I rebooked. It then went to $150 and is now sold out. One instance where Hotwire/Priceline was not worth it. Thanks. Link to comment
Jeff F. In Louisiana
You can try staying just outside the Quarter. It makes all the difference. I spent the weekend in New Orleans this past week, and it cost me $40 per night for a 3* hotel. We were just a few blocks from the French Quarter. This was a weekend with a Saints home game, which really surprized me.Choose the convention center district, and you'll be plenty close. I'm handicapped, and it was an easy walk for me.
