Agoust
I'm attempting to book one night in the city on the evening of Thursday, November 30. I'd like a four-star, and am willing to spend up to $200. I'm willing to bid all Priceline areas, with the exception of SOHO/Financial District. This is for a wary colleague, who's been flabbergasted by the deals I've gotten courtesy of this board. Thanks in advance for your help. Link to comment
thereuare
I think a 4* with a $200 maximum bid is going to be tough for this nite. You can try the following, as you have two re-bid zones available when bidding 4* in NYC. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTW...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* UM/CPS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and MTE...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* UM/CPS and MTS...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTS...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and MTS...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and UM/CPS...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and MTS and MTE and UM/CPS...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $200Any questions feel free to ask.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Agoust
I bid up to $200--no dice. I think I'm going to drop down to a three-star and see if I have a bit more luck. I note that rates and occupancy that night are just crazy. Thanks to the board for your help. Link to comment

Agoust
Occupancy and rates are crazy that particular night. As I suggested here, I bid up $200 for a four star hotel on the evening of November 30. No luck. I did the same for a three-star--no luck. This is for a friend/colleague--it's not a "must-do" trip, so for now the trip is on hold. I'll bid again a week or so before the date and see what happens, but I'm not too confident. Thanks again to the board. Link to comment
