Priceline Hotel: New to Hotel Bidding

Hi,

I have just signed up to betterbidding.com and have been reading peoples posts with great interest.

We are looking to go to New York at the end of November (or beginning of December), and would like to try out the 'bidding' process. - Initially been trying Dec 2nd - Dec 7th.

We have previously been to New York and stayed at the 'Belvedere Hotel', which was good, but the prices are now showing at $299 per night (including tax).

Is this just an expensive time to travel anyway, or may I have some luck bidding ?

It's a very expensive time of year in NYC, but to be able to answer your questions in regards to your specific needs:

-what zone(s) are you willing to stay in

-what is your maximum nitely budget

-what star rating are you looking for

-are you looking for a 5 nite stay (is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option)

Not sure - As cheap as possible. $200 ???

5 night stay, but don't want to 'split', as I want to stop at the same hotel.

I think you would increase your chances if you included other midtown zones, such as MTE and UM/CPS (and possibly MTS), is there a reason your avoiding these other zones?

Not only do you increase the number of possible hotels willing to accept your bid, but you also can use a more strategic bidding strategy which enables you to gradually increase your bids.
