Bruno Luiz Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 I'm from Brazil. It was my first bid experience on Priceline and this forum was extremely useful. Thanks a lot!I wanted a hotel close to Sawgrass Mills. I was trying to get the Crown Plaza which is in front of Sawgrass. Started bidding $50 for a 4-star hotel at West Ft. Lauderdale - Plantation. Not accepted. Added 3-star and raised the bid to $60. Not accepted.Added Miramar area (no 4 or 3-star hotels there) and raised the bid to $69. Accepted.Got a 3-star hotel named Hyatt Regency Bonaventure. I checked Hyatt's website and it's considered a resort. I got upset because a lot of people commented about a resort fee that they charge.I also read some reviews and they were not so good. Mainly, they said that the hotel needed some renovation.I arrived at the hotel and I was very well treated at the check-in counter. They gave me a room on building #1, first floor. The check-in lady emphasized that if I didn't like my room, I could ask for a change. Said that, I asked if it was posible to get a higher floor, so she gave me a room on the 3rd floor. No resort fee charged. Remembering the reviews that I read and seeing my room, led me to conclude that the hotel was renovated. The room was sparkling new and extremely clean. A confortable bed, 54-inches LCD TV, microfridge, a huge bathroom and even an IPod dock station. Wireless internet was available for free. The property has 3 restaurants, 1 bar, a spa and a big pool. I didn't check any of those. At the afternoon, I took a walk on what they call "the nature walk trail". I realized that they are still renovating the hotel. I think building 5 thru 9 are closed, still under renovation. It's a very nice hotel. I recommend it. The only downside is that there's no free continental breakfast.Hope this is going to be useful for someone.Just want to apologize for any english errors.Bruno Luiz
