This reservation was to extend one extra day. Could not extend at the Doubletree again for lack of availability.$20.84 for taxes and service fees for one nights stay seems outrageous to me! I like Priceline except for that. You think you are getting a good price but then you get wacked with fees that amount to 23% of your hotel bill! :)
thereuare Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 You think you are getting a good price but then you get wacked with fees that amount to 23% of your hotel bill! Your have to realize that this figure is made of two components... taxes and fees. The taxes neither you or priceline has any control over... while the fee is dictated by priceline and is about $6 per nite, which really isn't too bad when you compare to the likes of Expedia, Travelocity"]Travelocity, Orbitz, etc which all charge similar booking fees.Your total above is $111, while the best rate on the hotel website is $276 ($243room + $26taxes).$111 vs. $276... i'd say you got a pretty good deal, regardless of the taxes and fees invovled. If you want priceline's fee to go down as a percentage of your purchase... bid higher :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
