Published rates are sky-high -- mid $40s for midsize, even economy cars are are in the $40s. When I saw hotwire had $18.95 for a compact, I "knew" something was out there.I wonder if this is a new trend -- opaque car rentals being very discounted from published rates -- or just a strange one-off experience.
