Okay, so I'm new to this Priceline stuff. I have read everything on your website, but still need help, so I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. We are planning on booking tonight so hopefully I can get an answer by then.

Here's what we're looking for:

12/2-12/3

3.5 or higher

Miami Beach or Miami Downtown

$50 or less

How do I go about bidding for this? And if you use re-bid zone, please explain them.

Thanks for your help

Please do not double post... keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. If that thread is different than the service ultimately used we will then move the entire thread to the correct section of the board.

There is no 3.5* rating with priceline, so you'll need to either choose 3* or 4* as your minimum acceptable star rating.

Re-bidding is explained in this thread, Priceline Re-Bidding Explained. You need to know how to check your re-bid zones yourself as they should be checked before each round of bidding, but i can't comment on how many re-bid zones you have for the above since it's not yet known if you'll be bidding for 3* or 4*.

At the 4* leve you have 4 re-bid zones available... did you read the above link describing re-bidding and have a better understanding of it now or are you still confused? If the latter let us know and we will break it down for you in further detail.

From Priceline Re-Bidding Explained:

The way to check what star levels are available in each zone is to open a Priceline page, check ONLY the zone you are inquiring about, and then proceed to the next page (as if you were going to select a zone)... this will give you the available star ratings in that area. You can then hit BACK on your browser, uncheck the current box, check the next box, and repeat the process... (NOTE: for most users Priceline has updated their interface making the above process easier... simply check a zone and note the highest star rating available within each zone, UNcheck that zone and checkmark the next zone, repeating the process)

Also note that it is not simply "an area that doesn't have the star rating that you are looking for" but more precisely:

an area that doesn't have the star rating OR HIGHER that you are looking for
which is a subtle, but important, difference
