CruiserAngie Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Looking for a downtown hotel for one night, pre-cruise, 10 December. Would really love to get the Hyatt again, but will take what I can get as long as it's downtown. Need any and all advice on bidding, and winning. Last time I was able to get downtown, I bid and won at $35.00. I know that's not going to happen again, so any suggestions for a starting bid would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
thereuare Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 How about a follow-up to your Priceline Tampa by posting a reply to that thread with whatever you ended up doing for your stay... and then adding your previously Hyatt win to the board? :) After you've done the above bump this thread and we'll have a look. CruiserAngie Posted October 7, 2006 Author Report Posted October 7, 2006 Wow - Sorry about that. I forgot about the Tampa post.As for the Hyatt Regency stay - one night pre cruise 4/18/05. Was very lucky with that. My first time ever using Priceline and bid $35.00 for a 3* and wound up with the Hyatt on my first try. I got the insurance ($5.00 extra), and with taxes and fees, it came to $50.00. Not a bad price for that hotel. Great location, beautiful room. Would love to stay there again. The room overlooked the drawbridge, could see the port and cruise ships off to the left. We walked to Bayside Marketplace, I had read noty to be out after dark, but we felt extremely safe. Did not have a problem. Valet parking, which if I remember correctly was like $24.00. But that was better than trying to park on our own. The nearest garage is down a block or two-not convenient.

CruiserAngie Posted October 10, 2006 Author Report Posted October 10, 2006 Looking for a minimum of a 3*. As for what to bid, I don't even know what to start with. I honestly do not want to go over $100.00.Thanks.
thereuare Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 To make sure you don't over-bid... would something in the Beach zone work for you as well? (ie- HOTWIRE has a 3* hotel for $79/nite there) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
CruiserAngie Posted November 3, 2006 Author Report Posted November 3, 2006 Yes, the Beach zone would be fine. Taking my neice on a cruise for her 21st birthday, so I am trying to cater to her. Don't want to be stuck somewhere neither of us would not want to be. Thanks for all of your help.
