Priceline Hotel: Requesting help with a Priceline bid for 12/10 - 12/14

Hello!

I am brand new to this website although I have been reading it for research purposes for a while now.

I am planning a trip to Disneyland from 12/10 - 12/14. Last year I went during similar dates and locked in a 2 star hotel for $32 a night. This year we would like to step it up to a 3 star hotel.

I already know that I want to use Priceline because it is generally cheaper, and that it doesn't matter so much when I bid (sooner or later).

I have been watching people post rates of between $50 - $55 lately for times near my own near Disneyland.

One thing I can't quite seem to figure out is how to figure out the free re-bid system. Maybe it doesn't work near Disneyland because there are so many hotels . . ? I can see it explained very clearly on this website, but pardon me for just not being able to get it.

Thanks in advance for any help here :)

You do have re-bid zones available when bidding 3* in this area.

You can start with Priceline Re-Bidding Explained. If it doesn't make sense, we'll take it one step at a time. List each zone in the region and the highest star rating available in each zone and post them as a reply to this message. To find the highest star rating in each zone, use this technique:

The way to check what star levels are available in each zone is to open a Priceline page, check ONLY the zone you are inquiring about, and then proceed to the next page (as if you were going to select a zone)... this will give you the available star ratings in that area. You can then hit BACK on your browser, uncheck the current box, check the next box, and repeat the process.
(although you probably don't need to use the BACK button with priceline's new system which uses java and shows you the star ratings just by clicking the box... just make sure only one box is checked each time you record the highest star rating in the zone)

Okay I think that I understand where I was confused.

Here's what I've got for my re-bid zones:

ahameim hills

laguna hills mission viejo

seal beach n huntington fountain valley

I chose them because they DO NOT offer 3 star hotels.

I'll let you all know how it goes, if anyone has any more advice I'm listening! Thanks Mod!

Elna Hamp,

While the OP should post a follow-up to add 'closure' to this thread, their success/failure may have very little to do with your own stay since rates are date specific, and their dates are different than your own.

If you would like assistance please start a NEW TOPIC for your own stay.

Thanks.
