Hi can any help me work out which 2* hotel in the LAX zone is being offered on Hotwire for $57 per night? The hotel shows the following amenities:

Airport Shuttle; Complimentary Breakfast; Pool; Laundry; and Internet.

The dates I requested were for 1 night - arriving 8th October and departing 9th October.

My guess if that it is either the Ramada LAX or the Travelodge South LAX - both hotels seem to have received fairly bad reveiws lately - does anyone else have an opinion of these properties??

Thanks.

Hi, I was hoping to get accommodation for around the $65-70 mark. We are only just overnighting before flying out to Phoenix the next morning so didn't want to spend to much - especially with the exchange rate as it is!! Have tried to use Priceline but it seems only US and Canadian residents (or at least those that have a US/Canadian postal address for there credit cards) can use it - not so good for us that live 'down under' in New Zealand!!

Any suggestions you have would be appreciated. Failing that I think my next choice will be the Travellodge at LAX, which basically provided everything we're after (pool, breakfast, free parking etc) and has reasonable views.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers.

Hi, I read through the thread that you sent me and gave it a try....and Priceline has accepted my bid after I added a California zip code and a digit to my phone number. This is how it panned out -

I originally bid $45 for a 3* hotel in the LAX zone - this was rejected and I was prompted to up the bid by $13. I rebid at $58 and was successful with a one night booking for the 8th October at the Crown Plaza LAX.

Thanks a lot for your help - I'm pretty sure this is going to be a lot better than the Travelodge South for the same price!!!!

Just one more question - do you have any idea what price you hire rental cars at the last moment at LAX for? I can book one over the internet at the moment for about $25 (compact) for pick up at 10am 10/8/06 and return 10am 10/9/06, but as international flights aren't always on time (last time we flew to LA our flight was delayed by 5 hours) and we only wanted to hire the car if we could get to Longbeach Swap Meet by 11.30 - we thought we might just wait and see what time we actually arrived before we paid for a rental. Is it likely that we will pay a lot more if we hire a car on the day, or is it better to book on the internet in advance?

Cheers.
