On 9/16/06, I placed two separate last-minute bids for downtown Dallas last weekend. The first was for 9/17: I bid 2* @ $35. PL countered at +$9. I used a rebid and raised to $40, which was accepted at Springhill Suites West End. I then bid for 9/16: 2* @ $32. PL countered at +$8. I used a rebid to raise to $36, which was again accepted at Springhill Suites West End. The hotel website listed $149 for 9/17 and $129 or $119 (can't recall exactly) for 9/16.

This hotel was converted from an Amerisuites about a year or so ago. The suite I had was quite spacious with 2 beds, sofa bed, work area, table with 4 chairs, and a wet bar area with a mini fridge and microwave. It appeared to be newly renovated. They offer free breakfast and wi-fi. There's a fitness room and small outdoor pool overlooking the West End as well as coin laundry machines. I was quite happy with my stay there and my great PL bargain.

The hotel parking is valet only @ $18 per night. I parked in a public garage across Lamar St from the hotel for $4 each time upon exit, which I paid only once on Sat night. When I left on Monday morning, the gate was open and no attendant was on duty, so my total parking for two nights was $4.

Note: this hotel needs to be added to the Dallas list please.

I can't figure out how to edit my original post, so I'm adding this clarification. I did not add another zone to undercut the counteroffers. I lowered to 1* in Downtown and rebid.
