fali3 Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 I booked a hotel with priceline a few weeks ago. I wasn't sure at the time how many nights we would be staying, but I thought I was safe because of the add a night feature. Well, we decided to stay an extra night, but the option is no longer available. We are staying Oct 9th and want to add the 10th. I have started looking/bidding for the 10th, but would really like to stay at the same hotel. Is it possible that the option to add a night will return? I called priceline, but they said no. Just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this.

fali3 Posted September 18, 2006 Author Report Posted September 18, 2006 Yes I did book it the first half of August. Thanks for the help. Do you know if the Hilton New York tends to fill up? I know it is big and right now on their website and others it looks like their bottom of the line rooms are not being offered at all for Oct 10th. I am thinking they might release some rooms as the date gets closer if they haven't already been booked. Here is what I have been bidding with no luck so far.4*mtw 120+ upper east 130+ upper west 140+ soho 150
thereuare Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 When was the last time you tried the above bids? What is the price on the Hilton website? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
fali3 Posted September 19, 2006 Author Report Posted September 19, 2006 I bid Monday. I will try again today. I'm not sure how high to go at this point. I have only been bidding 4* in hopes of staying at the same hotel, but maybe I'll have to go 3*. I'm not sure when to go lower (star). I am willing to gamble and wait as long as possible if there is hope of staying at the Hilton the 2nd night. On their website right now the rooms are going for 469.00 at the lowest. I do want to stay in the midtown area if we end up changing hotels just for the convenience. Thank you for all your help.
thereuare Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 If you let us know a maximum bid we can suggest a strategy for you to follow. Also, if you don't want to stay Downtown, are you sure you should be adding the SoHo-Downtown zone? fali3 Posted September 19, 2006 Author Report Posted September 19, 2006 I'm looking to go no further than $160 right now. I'll see if I need to increase as the date gets closer or since we are flying out of Newark simply stay over there. I added Soho because I thought my chances of winning there would be slim since they tended to be more expensive. Honestly, if I can find a good deal on a 4* anywhere in Manhattan I would be happy. First choice obviously would be near or the actual New York Hilton. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.
thereuare Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Please start a NEW TOPIC for this stay since this thread is getting more indepth and diverting from the topic title which reflects your first win. As well, since the hotel for the second nite of your stay will likely be different than the Hilton, it will enable us to reflect the eventual win in the topic title of the new thread.Thanks.EDIT by thereuare: new date continued in this Priceline New York thread Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
