Just seen on Hotwire for $97/ night:

Does not seem to match any in your current list... any ideas? And in general... I am looking for a bargain on a 4-star, beachfront property in Cancun in early December. Rates on Hotwire do not seem a LOT cheaper than retail right now. In your experience will they come down as it gets closer to my travel dates? Does it pay to be patient? I've had good luck on Hotwire/Priceline in the past.

This hotel has not yet been identified. If i were to take a guess, i'd think the Westin would be a good possibility, but no high degree of confidence in that guess at this point.

I'd also recommend checking out EasyClickTravel which has quite a few 4* to 5* properties at the sub-$150 price point... and are cancellable (up until 3 days before your check-in date) while you continue to try the opaque providers.

Updating... the Westin is exactly the hotel I'd hope for, but not ready to roll the dice yet. I did make a fully refundable reservation at the Westin website for $133/ night. It is their "Escape Package" which includes full breakfast and late check out. I don't see the same rate on their website any longer.
