urbanhack
My wife and I just returned from New York after going to through some travel headaches. To make the long story short, we rented an apartment for the week on the upper west side. We showed up and the place was a dump. The guy let us out of our contract, but we still needed a place to stay. After making some calls, I realzed the average rates were all above $300 due to the Holiday season. A friend helped us out the first two nights and hooked us up at the Manhattan Shearaton for $129 a night. I jumped on priceline the next day and was able to get the Millennium Broadway for $139 a night for 5 nights. I checked their web site to see what the going rate was. The normal rate would have been $369/night. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! Thanks for sharing your apartment experience with us as i'm sure many on the board had at least considered that option while traveling.Rates in NYC were thru the roof this holiday season and i'm glad you were able to successfuly use Priceline at the last minute (under a bid to pressure i imagine as well). Thanks again for posting and i hope your trip finished a lot smoother than it started. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
