Rates are actually still very high for this date so this is a very nice win! The Hilton is sold-out for the nite of the 11th so that could very well explain your rejections when you tried for both nites together.

Quikbook has the Helmsley Middletowne Hotel as well as the Park 79 available, each for $239/nite. Reviews of each are mixed (here is one and the other), but perhaps will do for one nite pending anything else coming thru for you.
