Priceline Hotel: Bidding Help - Manhatten - Oct 9 - 12

Looking for advice. I have two people attending an event in NYC (midtown) from Oct 9 - 12. They have a quoted hotel rate of $299 for the location where the event is (rated a 4* on Priceline).

I'd like to try and find a better deal via Priceline and would accept a 3* or 4* in MTW, UTM, MTE in that order of preference. Need two separate rooms (sorry, can't put them together) for four nights.

Any suggestions?
