Zani Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 I was looking for a 4* hotel in San Francisco for 10/5-10/7, but saw that others had unsuccessfully bid up to $120 or $140 on Priceline for those dates. I tried for myself (on Priceline) up to $100, but no luck. I noticed a 4* on Hotwire in the Embarcadero area for the night of 10/6 (but not for the first night) which looked like it would probably be the Hilton Financial District. I tried to undercut the Hotwire amount through Priceline for that night, but couldn't get it for less. I used Priceline to get the first night (10/5) at the Hilton Financial District at a bid of $74 ($92.31 with tax and fees) and then went ahead and booked the second night through Hotwire.
