Priceline Hotel: San Diego hotel Labor Day week

Hello! I am hoping to find a 4-star hotel on Priceline or Hotwire for Sept 4-7. I know it's Labor Day week. Can you please suggest a bidding strategy? Would LOVE to pay $100 a night. Is this even possible?

What do you mean by zone?

If you go to Priceline and enter "San Diego, CA" under the "Name Your Own Price" section of their website, you'll be shown zones, as defined by Priceline, of the area. You then select which zones you are willing to bid on (where you can receive a hotel anywhere within the shaded area of the zone).

This enables you to pick a general area within San Diego you want to be, and not just "anywhere" within the nearby San Diego city limits.
