Dallas guy Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 This is my first post, sorry if it is not done correctly. I got a 4 star in Houston in the Galleria area for $80 last month and $77 this month, the Hotel Intercontinental. Same hotel different prices. HUGE BARGAIN at these prices. Definitely a true bargain. It is listed as a Customer Favorite. The rooms are very clean and everything works is new or fairly new. No worn out carpet or tattered furnishings. The only complaint would be the AC vent was dusty. The staff especially the concierge was excellent and helpful.Has all the normal ammenities plus: in-room safe, valet parking, park you self $14.00 per day, very clean rooms, it seems to be a bit more of a business hotel in looks but everybody I saw there were tourist types. Average size room. Has high speed internet that costs $10.00 per day. Hotel restaurant was nice but small and expensive but priced accordingly. Very near the Galleria, third largest mall in US. Pool is outside on the roof and workout center is nice and clean and rarely used. I was the only one ever in there. The internet connection was tricky at times but worked most of the time. BEWARE they charge $$$ for local calls per minute, I think. Make sure you ask.
