Priceline Hotel: 4* Philadelphia (Downtown) Omni Hotel

I started bidding for 9/1-9/3 a 4 star hotel in Downtown Philadelphia at $80. Kept getting declined. They counteroffered me $130. I declined. I waited a few days and bid $90. Got declined. I added rebid zone: University area and raised my bid to $95. I got accepted.

Omni Hotel At Independence Park

I was so excited when my bid got accepted. Then I went to Omni's website, and saw that their pool/hot tub/fitness center is closed for renovation throughout September. That is a BIG let down. Now I'm not so excited.

Sorry to hear of your disappointment with the renovations taking place of the spa and fitness center. I would give the hotel a call to see if it will be re-open by next weekend (scheduled to re-open September 2006) and if not, if there is a YMCA or a local gym nearby that you could use. You can probably 'walk-in' to a local gym for a free day trial or take some of the money you saved towards a day pass at the Y. Not the same as strolling to the hotel pool or spa, but ask the hotel as they may have an arrangement with a facility nearby for guests while their own fitness area is closed.
