Priceline Hotel: 3* Long Beach (San Pedro) Doubletree Hotel San Pedro

After winning this hotel last night for Aug. 28-Sept. 1 (posted separately), I immediately bid $50 for Aug. 23-25 but I got an error message saying I had already bid within 24 hours. I know for a fact I had not included the San Pedro zone earlier but I was too tired to start over again so I just went to bed.

This morning I got my friend to bid $50 and it was accepted. Maybe we should have tried starting out with a lower bid and adding in other zones (as they are all acceptable) but given that we're flying in on Wednesday, I didn't want to risk being homeless the first two nights.

I just went on the former Marina hotel website and it says the hotel will be undergoing renovations from June 19 to August 15. That's cutting it fairly close! When checking in, I will make sure to get a renovated room.

Less than half price so a great deal. The Doubltree website doesn't mention anything about the hotel being under renovations, so hopefully they're complete :)
