jprof Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Was hoping for the Residence Inn in Framingham, which I'd heard sometimes goes for as little as $46 on Priceline.-- I bid $42 for Natick/Framingham (going in through the PRICELINE link on Savingsbarn.com).-- Got a "free" rebid response, asking if I could raise my price by $12, to $54. I didn't really want to do this, but it was 5:50 p.m. EDT on the night I needed to stay at the hotel, and I *think* the Priceline cutoff is still 6 p.m. Eastern. So I added the $12 and got the Crowne Plaza, which came to about $67 with taxes.Best rate available on the hotel's Web site was $125.
jprof Posted August 18, 2006 Author Report Posted August 18, 2006 Arggh! I see now what I did wrong in aiming for the Residence Inn. Priceline counts it as a 2.5-star. Next time I'm headed up the Mass Pike ...
