jb107756 Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 Bid $81 in Prague(east) for 3 nights 10/11 - 10/14. Priceline suggested increasing bid by $22. I counteroffered with $91 and added Prague (west) hoping to get the Movenpick. Instead I was given Corinthia Panorama.Total cost 3 x $91 + taxes = $300.85.Best price at the hotel's site: 120 euros (= $152.70US).I note that a famous Internet hotel reviews site lists this hotel as 222 of 447 Prague hotels. One of their reviewers felt that it barely was worth 2 stars, while others thought it deserved its 4 stars. Oh well, at least I have been warned. For those wishing to see how close the hotel is to the Metro station and how far from downtown, Prague has an excellent interactive map site (all in Czech) at:www.mapy.czPatch the hotel's address, Milevska 7, into the box at the top and click Hledej. The inverted green triangle is the Metro stop and if you run your mouse over it, it gives you the station's name. For a very detailed and advertisement-free site about Prague, try http://www.miss-sophies.com/prague.php#par4I liked the OUR ORIENTATION TRAM TOUR section, a self-guided introductory tour of Prague, for the cost of a 24-hour metro-tram-bus ticket, and will probably try it when I am there. For a fair site for translating Czech to English, try:http://www.wordbook.cz/choose from Czech to English, type in the word in the box, but use the special characters as needed.
