TimeBeing Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 Bid 180 for 5* got 239 back.Going to wait befor i re-bid (have a back up at $220 avg. with all fees) see if the new travel issues cause Vages prices to change.
thereuare Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 What is your maximum bid?I'm guessing, based upon current rates, it will take somewhere between $190-$210 to be successful. Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? thereuare Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 A bit more...HOTWIRE has a 5* hotel for $282 which is believed to be the Venetian for $282/nite (although the Wynn recently opened and has never been reported on Hotwire, so that would always be a possibility) while the Venetian's own website is $239/nite. Assuming it is the Venetian, you could buy thru HOTWIRE and then apply for their Double the Difference Guarantee, which if successful, would bring your cost down to $196/nite (plus fees and taxes). If you choose to go this route, i'd sooner try up to $205 or so on Priceline since it would be very close to a HOTWIRE purcase (given the fees would be based upon $282 instead of $205) and getting it on priceline removes the uncertainty of the Wynn coming up as well as the the result being in Hotwire's hands of approving your DTD guarantee.Any questions on the above feel free to ask. TimeBeing Posted August 11, 2006 Author Report Posted August 11, 2006 max bid will likely be $200. no spliting is not an option. Since i got a back up will likely wait a little bit to do the next bids. Since Vegas prices tend to go all over the place, and there is a chance even my back up will go down in price. Will post any new bids i make.Question, do you get to set Room type with priceline (2 beds, etc?)oh and i did book my back up at the mirage threw the site (would have done airfare too but bought it befor i found out about your links page.)
thereuare Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 Venetian give opaque buyers a King bed... two bedded rooms are usually an additional fee at the Ventian, if available, at check-in.
