justmetoo
Hi Great site!I have been reading and followed the links and have bid on Priceline for the 3* hotel in Jersey City. I have no preference, either the Doubletree or the Hyatt would be great, in fact I would prefer the Doubletree as there are 3 adults in my group.Do you think the prices will be going down? I get $289.00 a night for the 3*. I have been bidding $75.00 and $85.00 but am willing to go to $125.00thank you Link to comment
thereuare
For a discussion of rates going up/down see the related link discussing "when to bid" in our PRICELINE FAQ.Rates at the Hyatt are high but rates at the Doubletree are very reasonable. You can book a refundable rate at the Doubletree for $179/nite (the non-refundable rate is $159/nite) while you continue to try the opaque providers... i dont' think i'd bid higher than $90 or $95 this early, provided you have a refundable back-up.Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? justmetoo
Thank you for the link to the PriceLine FAQ, I'll check it out.I checked out the Splitting Your Bid option thread and don't know if I really want to take the risk of moving to different Hotels.I'll be using the link to SavingsBarn.com link to try my bid again on Priceline today and let you know how it goes. justmetoo
First bid of $75 was rejected. Re-bid of $90, added Elizabeth was rejected. Used SavingsBarn.com.If I were to try and split the bid, would you suggest doing Thurs. Friday or Friday Sat.? Link to comment
thereuare
Thanks for trying thru the SB links. If you want to try splitting your bid, you can try the following combinations in this order:10/12-10/15 (already bid)10/13-10/1510/12-10/14When you change the dates it is treated as an entirely new bid, so there is no need to wait 24 hours between the above bids, nor do you have to wait 24 hours from your previously rejected bid :)Any questions feel free to ask.
