Priceline Hotel: need a 4* in UM/CPS

Hello,

Can you please give me a bidding strategy for Sept. 26-29th in UM/CPS? We do not want to pay above $175 (before taxes) as we have the Parker Meridien for $225 a night through the hotel. What do you think; is this unreasonable due to the time of year?

We'll suggest a strategy for whatever you want... but $175 does not a high probability of success this time of year (although i haven't looked at the specific dates yet), but is the only zone you're willing to stay in? You don't want to include MTE and/or MTW?

No I don't want to include ME or MW because I don't want to chance getting the Hyatt Grand Central or Millenium UN. The hotels in CPS look the best to us as far as location and hotel. What do you think my bid would have to be that time of year?

The Millienium UN was last reported as 3* so that shouldn't be a possibility if you stick with 4* bidding. As well, not sure why you don't like the Grand Hyatt as most recent reports i have read have been quite favorable.

Regardless, it will likely take well in excess of $200/nite. Not sure how you booked the Le Meridien, but if you're in for $225/nite i'd stick with it, as the current rates is in excess of $500/nite for these dates. :)

The Grand Hyatt is a very nice hotel but just isn't in a location that my wife and I desire for this particular trip.

I guess this one time priceline may not be my best bet! I got a special rate at the PM with a little negotiation and a nice manager. Very lucky.

I'll be back next time as I probably won't get so lucky. Thanks again for your responses.
