Johngo
I tried 3* for 24 August (2 rooms, 1 night), at $95. Also tried 2.5* for $80 and 2* for 60. All failed. Link to comment
thereuare
I've moved your post to its own thread since it was for different dates than the thread you replied to.Did you make alternate plans or intend to bid again? What is your maximum bid at each star level? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Johngo
> Did you make alternate plans or intend to bid again? What is your maximum bid at each star level? No alternate plans yet. Priceline just sent me an email that said "Since it has been at least one day since your last request, you can try your exact same request again by using the link below."The link didn't re-submit my request, though. It only brought me to the Priceline homepage. Not sure if savingsbarn would get credit if I won a bid this time, even though my original visit was through sb.I only bid the one price per star level (or are you asking how high am I willing to go?)JohnG Link to comment

Johngo
That kinda depends on the star level... I'd like to stay under $200 for 2 rooms - basically just a one night stayover after a late landing. I know Alaska is high, but we're kinda heading out of high season towards the end of this month. Just tried 2.5* for 85, still failed. 2* for $70 also rejected. Link to comment
Johngo
Tried 2.5* for 88 and 2* for 73 - both rejected. Link to comment
Johngo
Tried 2.5* for 90 and 2* for 75. No joy. Link to comment
Johngo
2.5* for 92 and 2* for 77 both rejected. Link to comment
Johngo
retried 2.5* for 92, and 2* for 81 - nope Link to comment
Johngo
After many more prices/tries, I finally won 2* for $105 (2 rooms) Wished for better, but still better than paying $148 (same hotel via Travelocity"]Travelocity). Though now that I know where I'm staying, 2/3 of posters at Travelocity"]Travelocity had problems with this hotel. Many complaints at tripadvisor.com, too... J Link to comment

Johngo
What hotel did you win?Sorry for the LONG delay... (also sorry for posting so many messages in this thread)Oddly, my inbox says the last bid I made was $110, so I'm a bit confused why I said $105 above. This hotel was the only hotel we booked on this trip, so I kinda doubt it's confusion over email messages.Anywho, the win was at Best Value Inn, aka Executive Suite Hotel. (not the most impressive hotel I've ever stayed at)J Link to comment

Johngo
Worn and musty are my memories of my room, but I can't say I can top my friends room - the lightswitch in the "hallway" (area between the main room and the bedroom) was apparently wired into the smoke detector - when you flipped the switch, the smoke detector would start sounding. (probably just an alert that is normal at power-up)Thankful we were only there the night. Link to comment
