Priceline Hotel: Help with Sedona bidding for 9/9/06-9/11/06

Hello all, I am new to the forum, and new to Priceline. I have successfully bid on a room through Priceline before, but this time I seem to be having more of a challenge, so I thought I would consult the experts.

I started out bidding $69 for a resort in Sedona. This was rejected. Then I went back and raised my bid to $79 and added another area that I knew didn't have resorts (Flagstaff). Also rejected.

I'm wondering if I am bidding to soon?? Should I be waiting until the date gets closer? I don't even know if $79 is close to where I would need to be to get an acceptance.

Any advice?

Have you searched hotel direct rates from the Hilton and the Radisson?

Both are appearing to be sold-out for these dates, which would make the likelihood of a priceline win very slim.
