bkushner Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 I have tried to win a Priceline bid in Nice 4 star with bids as high as 140.00 for oct 11-14. Other posts have led me to believe this should work. I choose city location and city airport. Is this just ad luck? Should I keep trying?
thereuare Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Rates are date specific, and rates for your dates are higher than the recent wins we've seen at the Sofitel around the $100 range. What is your maximum bid? bkushner Posted July 30, 2006 Author Report Posted July 30, 2006 I started bidding at 100 us and changed the dates a little each time and raised the bid each time until 140 and ran out of options for today as I can't rebid for 24 hours I assume. I don't know what you mean by my maximum bid. My last bid was 140 dollars. Will the hotel open up in a few days perhaps? Am I doing something wrong?
thereuare Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Maximum bid = how high you're willing to bid before making alternate arrangements or booking directThe above should be based upon what you'd end up having to pay for a room if you didn't use an opaque service (ie- priceline) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
bkushner Posted July 30, 2006 Author Report Posted July 30, 2006 I would like 140.oo us to be a maximum. I just got screwed a little on Priceline for Venice. No hits for Venice up to 145 US, I added another area and was charged 40 per cent more than the hotel's website. I got a partial discount but the hotel's price included all taxes and Priceline wouldn't match that. 82 Euro/night all in from hotel website versus 145 american without taxes on Priceline.
thereuare Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Please add your Venice winning bid to the board as a new post... then we can continue the above discussion. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
bkushner Posted July 31, 2006 Author Report Posted July 31, 2006 I just got Boscolo Park in Nice oct 11-oct14. Bid was 130 american. It was called 4 star
