since niether show an "on beach" or "across from the beach" icon your most likely looking at the 2* being the Hampton Inn Ponte Vedra and the 2.5* being the Hilton Garden Inn Ponte Vedra located next to the Sawgrass Marriott. There are only a few oceanfront/view hotels left in the area due to high rise condo's replacing the hotels. One the them, the Holiday Inn Sunspree (now closed) is being completely "gutted" and will soon return as the Courtyard by Marriott Oceanfront.

I went ahead and booked the 2.5*, total was $92. It was the Comfort Inn Mayport. I checked it out on Expedia.com total was $91. It really doesn't matter b/c I paid with HotDollars from a previous trip gone bad.... Thanks for the help.

I have often wondered what the 2* and 2.5* Jax Beach properties were.

I have a sneaky suspicion that the 2* is the Days Inn Neptune Beach (which is $89.10 for your date).

Not really surprised to see the Comfort Inn rated a 2.5* - Hotwire ratings generally seem higher than Priceline's.

The Comfort Inn website rate directly from the hotel is $70.20/ night.

I believe you could hit Hotwire up on their Double the Difference Price Guarantee on this.
