tgenius Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 I'd really like a 5* (Venetian) during this timeframe as it is my honeymoon. I know it is forever from now, so I wonder if I can even get a room at this point? I was also looking at the Bellagio $199 regular room too. Any ideas?
thereuare Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 Your not currently going to be able to get the Venetian for under $200/nite.However, rates in Vegas change very quickly and very often (although not usually so much this far out).I would definately book the $199/nite rate at the Bellagio (please use this link if you do) since it appears to be fully cancellable. This locks you in with a pretty good rate for that property in case rates go higher from here... if you are successful later with HOTWIRE or Priceline, or if rates go lower, you can always cancel this for a full refund. tgenius Posted July 19, 2006 Author Report Posted July 19, 2006 Do you know if they fully bill you if you reserve directly with the bellagio, or is it a partial charge? Scratch that, only one night's room. I reserved through the link provided thereuare. Thanks!what do you think I will have to pay for Venetian?
thereuare Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 Right now?Over $200 which doesn't make it worthwhile given the $199 rate at the Bellagio. But as i said, thinks can and do change, both up and down... so you're in a position to take advantage of lower rates, but won't be affected by higher rates. :)Thanks for using the Bellagio link in the thread. tgenius Posted July 19, 2006 Author Report Posted July 19, 2006 forgive my ignorance, but the $199 room at bellagio is comparable to a higher end room at some of the other hotels on the strip, right?
thereuare Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 The room (and hotel) will be high-end... you won't get the room size of the Venetian, but the Bellagio is a 5* hotel so it should satisfy your needs :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
tgenius Posted July 19, 2006 Author Report Posted July 19, 2006 What do you think I would have to bid to get Venetian (the only 5*) It is my honeymoon, so if we're talking an extra $40 a night, it may be worth it. :)
thereuare Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 I think it would be more than an extra $40-$50/nite, but i think you're losing site of the bigger picture:It's too early. You've done the right thing by booking an cancellable back-up... now you have to wait for prices to <hopefully> drop as you get closer to your arrival. There is a chance that you can get this property for less than your current back-up... but it can't be done now.
