Scottmc
Yes we will have a car (part of the reason we're staying on the Jersey side). 5 of us (3 kids) so a reasonably priced but sit down restaurant will work for us. thanks Link to comment
dahammer
the Sheraton is not too far from Medieval Times in Lyndhurst. You will pass Harold's Deli also in Lyndhurst located in the Quality Inn, really good Pastrami. This deli supposedly buys its pastrami from the same place as the Carnegie Deli, which, I believe, is made in Moonachie, NJ. Other than that, there are several chain restaurants in the Mill Creek shopping center (Outback, Bonefish Grill, Olive Garden, etc) which is a short drive. Link to comment
thereuare
I think i'd avoid Medieval Times, but that's just my opinion... it's ok for a kids birthday party if that's what they want to do, but i wouldn't be heading there for the food. I'd sooner recommend the Olive Garden... which i don't recommend :)The deli is a good idea if you like that type of food... their sandwiches can feed more than one (dahammer can confirm).I almost hate to recommend it because i've had so many "hit or miss" meals there (which is a shame because 10 years ago certain locations used to be very good, but rapid expansion has made it go way downhill) but Charlie Browns is less than 5 minutes away... they have a big salad bar, it's very reasonably priced, and a kids menu as well. Then there is the entire gamut of chain restaurants: TGI Fridays, Unos, Olive Garden, Houlihans, Outback, Cheeseburger in Paradise (or it may be Cheeseburger Cheeseburger, i'm not sure), Chevy's, etc... all within a 5-10 minute drive. If you wanted to drive to Hoboken (20 minutes) i can give some places i have more experience with which would have a bit more 'local' flare to them.
