Priceline Hotel: Toronto bidding help for 8/11 - 8/13

HI,

First let me tell you that your board is awesome!!

I am looking to bid on a 3 or 4 star hotel for August 11th to 13th in DOWNTOWN Toronto. I read and understand your star rating bidding strategy. My questions are:

Since my dates are a month away, is it too early to bid?

I need 3 rooms; does that hurt or help me?

Lastly, can you suggest a bidding strategy please.

My maximum bid is around $55 - $60.

I don't think it's too early to bid, but for more on this topic you can see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.

Did you want to try up to your maximum for a 4* hotel first and then, if rejected, try for a 3* or are you looking for the cheapest price you can get for a 3* or higher property?

Let us know the answers to the above and if you are ready to now, we'll then go ahead and suggest a strategy to follow.

You have two re-bid zones available at the 3* level. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 3* Downtown...

Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $50, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 3* Downtown and re-bid zone2...

Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $60

I don't know enough about Toronto to advise on the other adjacent zones, but you can use our priceline maps for Toronto to help see where the other hotels/zones are relative to Downtown.

If you're able to select other areas let us know which one(s) and we'll revise the above strategy accordingly.

Hi and thank you for your replay. My other zones of interest are: Don Valley and Vaughan - North York, with DV being my preferred alternative. Thank you again for your help.

The Crowne Plaza in Don Valley is sold-out the nite of the 12th, so i think the chances of you being successful in that zone are greatly reduced. We'll suggest a stratety for you to try anyway, but if that fails, would you then want to add (Vaughan-North York) or would you rather consider SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID?
