Syberian Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 I am looking for a 4* (would take a 3.5* if it saved substantial cash) for $100 or under for 10/28-11/1 but so far no luck after several days of bidding. Am bidding too early or should I bite the bullet and bid higher? Also any strategy anyone could provide would be really appreciated!
thereuare Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding! What zone(s) are you bidding? There is no 3.5* offered thru Priceline so the next level down would be 3*... is that an option? Syberian Posted July 13, 2006 Author Report Posted July 13, 2006 Primarily I have been bidding on Georgetown, Dupont Circle, White House, and Convention Center, but I have also thrown in Arlington a few times to see if that would help. I should have put 3* instead of 3.5* (I'm also looking at Hotwire at times). 3* is an option, but I really would prefer 4*. I know I have been seeing successful bids at $75-$100 for 4*, just not into late October.
thereuare Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 Rates are date specific... have you booked a back-up yet? (if so, where and how much) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Syberian Posted July 13, 2006 Author Report Posted July 13, 2006 I haven't booked a backup at this point, but there is a 3* that showes up on Hotwire for $96. This won't work as a true backup however since it is not refundable. Is this a situation where I may have to bid until just a couple of weeks before the dates I want, or will the prices remain the same between now and then?
