STLtraveler Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 Can someone help with a bidding strategy for Denver (Airport Area) using Priceline? Would like a 3*. Staying one night: Sunday, July 23rd. Also, this time I am traveling with my dad and would like to arrange for 2 beds. Are the hotels fairly accommodating to Priceline customers' requests for 1 or 2 beds?
thereuare Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 I would think an airport hotel in Denver would be accomodating to two beds, but there are no guarantees... the hotel may just not be accomodating or not have any rooms with two beds when it is time for you to check-in.An alternative would be to try HOTWIRE which allows you to search for up to quad occupancy... selecting 3 occupants would ensure that you have two separate sleeping accomodations for each of you. This will likely cost you a bit more than priceline, but you have the advantage of knowing the bed situation as well as possibly identifying the property beforehand.Let us know which way you'd like to go and we'll asssist with either. If you'd like to go to with Priceline let us know your maximum bid so that a strategy we suggest doesn't go higher than you care to spend. STLtraveler Posted July 12, 2006 Author Report Posted July 12, 2006 As far as I can tell from using this site and seeing what Hotwire is offering for that date....It looks like I would get either the La Quinta or Crystal Inn. Either seem fine, but the deal isn't that great. From my previous experiences using Priceline, I would imagine we could pull off 2 beds. I would like to give Priceline a shot. Going for a 3* by the airport. Max bid at $65 for July 23. If no luck after a few tries...I may drop to 2* and lower bid.
thereuare Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 You have three re-bid zones when bidding 3* in Denver. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Airport...Bid $48, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $53, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $57, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60.If rejected wait 24 hour and re-try:Bid $48, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $62, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
