bobvh316 Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Let me first say what a great site. Anyway, looking to go to SF and want to stay in Fishermans Wharf in september and found a 4 star hotel on hotwire with the following: $164 and includes a fitness center, high speed internet, restaurant, pool and business center. It also says trip advisor reviewers give it 3 out of 5 stars. Is this the Argonaut or could it be the Sheraton? Thanks.

BEAV Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 The Argonaut doesn't have a pool, but the Sheraton does.
bobvh316 Posted July 12, 2006 Author Report Posted July 12, 2006 It was the Sheraton. I actually got a hotel thru priceline. I'll post on the Priceline San Francisco board.
bobvh316 Posted July 12, 2006 Author Report Posted July 12, 2006 It took a couple days but I was finally able to get this. I'm staying over the first week of Septemeber. I was trying for a 4 star and I can't remember how high I bid, I think I went to aroud $120.00 but I was rejected. After looking over this board, I noticed that alot of the 4 star hotels in Fishermans wharf that priceline was giving you was the Sheraton. Meanwhile, the 3 stars were the Hyatt, Mariott, Best Western and the Hilton. In reading the reviews on Trip advisor, I thought the Mariott was the best out of the bunch. So, I decided to drop down to a 3 star and I bid $110 and was rejected. I added the civic center (no 3 stars) and bid $120.00 and got the Mariott. I'm very happy. Their web site lists the hotel at $199 a night. What a savings. This site is awesome. Thank you.
