Finally, won a stay at the Villa Florence for $80 at the Boutique level. I'm pretty pleased with the location -- I couldn't have picked a more convenient spot for all the things I'm interested in doing (one of which is attend a conference three blocks away at Moscone West). But the reviews worry me; they suggest that some of the service staff treat priceline purchasers poorly, and that there's a basic choice to be made between a noisy room with a view and a quiet one with no view (and the quiet one might also be a smoking room).

I'm not too concerned about not getting a view, but I'd rather avoid both noise (I want to sleep) and a smoking room (I have allergies). I'll probably try calling the hotel tomorrow to ensure that I am placed in a non-smoking room, preferably quiet. Hopefully they'll be willing and able to accomodate me.
