doobie Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 I"m new here (but have been avidly reading all the other postings). I put in a search for hotels in Vaughan (near Toronto). The options I get are:*3 in Markham-Richmond Hill for $71/night - fitness, pool, restaurant, laundry facilities*2.5 in North York for $73 - airport shuttle, pool, restaurant*3 in North York for $103 - fitness, pool, restaurant, business centre*2.5 in Markham-Richmond Hill - fitness, pool, restaurant, golf nearby*2 in North York for $32 - pool, laundry*1in North YorkWhen I go to the Hotwire Hotel Lists, the only one listed in this area is a *2 Travelodge in North York. There are no other ones listed at all. I know the list is not complete, but how can I get any ideas as to what they are? Also, I'm confused as to why I'm getting Markham hotels when I typed in Vaughan. Also, when I look at Priceline hotels for the same search (Vaughan), the Toronto Radisson East is listed as being in Vaughan/North York (it is :) nowhere near Vaughan). I'm confused, can anyone give me some direction?
thereuare Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding!Which hotels are you really interested in and we will try to research them for you. It's not common for a user interested in a 3* hotel for $71/nite to also be interested i a 2* hotel for $32/nite and across so many zones. doobie Posted July 8, 2006 Author Report Posted July 8, 2006 I would love to stay at the Courtyard by Marriott, which is right in Vaughan, and I think is a *2.5. Or Dodge Suites, again right in Vaughan, but I doubt if that's a hotel offered by Hotwire (but you never know!). I really don't want to get the Radisson East, which I don't think is anywhere close to Vaughan, but for some reason is listed in that area.We are going to Canada's Wonderland. We don't have to stay right beside it, but I don't want to drive from downtown TO. I'd prefer a 15 minute drive or less. We have 2 kids, so a kid friendly hotel with a pool is a must!

doobie Posted July 9, 2006 Author Report Posted July 9, 2006 we are staying July 20th for just one night.
thereuare Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 From the Hotwire Hotel List the 3* in Markham is a match for the Holiday Inn Markham so that would be our best guess. Not sure of the 2.5* property.Let us know how it goes and please use this HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Good luck.
